Sex Crimes

Central Florida, FL Sex Crimes Attorney

If you have a sex crimes charge filed against you, you need a former prosecutor with sex crimes experience.   Sex crimes convictions have life long registration implications. In addition to the possibility of a long prison sentence, a sex crime conviction may affect your ability to get a job and where you can live. The severity of sex crimes are usually associated with the age of the victim.  Law Enforcement can even pose as a minor in certain situations or use decoys when no minor is involved which can still result in you being charged with a sex crime.  Law Enforcement investigates these crimes extensively and have investigative means to collect all the evidence before you are even arrested.  Many Sex Crimes have a minimum mandatory sentence and specific rules of evidence that apply.  You need an attorney who knows the police tactics and how to defend you against these allegations.

Once reported to Law Enforcement, an investigation begins with collecting evidence to make a case.  Then, Law Enforcement will submit all the evidence they collected to the State Attorney’s Office.  Anything you say during the investigation will be used against you.  If you are under suspicion as a suspect, you should not speak with Law Enforcement without an attorney present.

An attorney being involved early on your behalf means that the attorney can start building a compelling defense case.
